All the metals can form an oxide layer on the surface when they react with oxygen in the air. The reaction will continue if the oxide layer is on the common steel surface. There is more than 11% chromium in stainless steel, and changes the character of oxidation, so this will prevent further oxygenation. If the oxide layer is removed by accident, a new layer will be formed to protect the stainless steel.
In fact, stainless steel contains at least 18% chromium, and there is at least 8% nickel in some common grades.
Typical application
Stainless steel Grade 430 is widely used in indoors, but if we have to choose nickel steel to meet outdoor decoration requirement. Stainless steel 304 is widely used in screen- wall, side-wall and roof and other fields. In the seaside and air-polluted area, stainless steel 316 is more popular.
Product shape
Stainless steel is mainly processed according to standard metal figure and dimension, additionally, with many other special shapes and castings. The common products widely used in architecture decoration are thin sheets and mid-thick sheets.
